Media Release

Mangawhai Domain Society Inc.

The Mangawhai Domain Committee, prior to the AGM held on Monday 12th June 2017, has been re-instated pursuant to a legal opinion obtained from a major Northland law firm.

The last AGM was null and void because the AGM did not comply with the rule for registered members as required under the constitution and the Incorporated Societies Act.

This committee is effectively in a caretaker role to keep the facility running until such time as the membership register is up and running.   It will set about compiling a register of members who then will be eligible to vote at the next AGM.  A date for the next AGM will be advised as soon as possible after that.

We are proposing to have a fair and open forum so that the community can have their say in ensuring that the Domain is available to the general Mangawhai community in terms of the constitution.

We advise that, in the meantime, the public are able to access our website (www.mangawhaidomain.org.nz) for further details and registration forms

It is our vision that the Domain be available for all users and sporting activities equally and to continue its role of maintaining and improving a fantastic community asset for everyone.

Our Vision

To develop, improve and encourage the use of the Mangawhai Domain for as many activities as possible for the benefit of Mangawhai and the wider Community

The Mangawhai Domain is a community owned facility, managed by an elected Committee of the Mangawhai Domain Society Incorporated

All funding for maintenance and upkeep is raised by the Committee and volunteers, mostly through our Annual Gala Day held on 02 January every year which raises about 70% of annual maintenance and minor capital improvements.

We also get grant funding on an ad hoc basis for major capital works and a grant from Kaipara District Council to assist in the maintenance we undertake on the adjoining Council-owned Rose Madsen Cottage.

Upcoming events

Some groups who currently use the facility and have activities based there include:

Entertainment, Music, Rides and about 200 market stalls, food, dog shows and more.  Great involvement of local and visitor community.  Caters for all age groups, families, singles.

Opportunities for the community to use for even more activities
